Over 3,000,000 American Troops Leaving Europe
Received Thursday, 10.35 p.m. WASHINGTON, May 9. The U.S. Army announced that approximately 2,837,000 troops will be moved from Europe within nine months and 3,100,000 within one year, leaving an estimated occupation force of only 400,000. The majority will come to the United States and ! will then be redeployed to the Pacific • or discharged. Others will be sent ; direct from Europe to the Pacific.
