Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the annual ewe fair held at Mr. C. T. Keeble’s yards, kindly lent for the occasion, on Alonday last. There was a large attendance of buyers from the surrounding districts who were keenly interested in the offering of approximately 4200 sheep on account of settlers of the Fitzherbert West district. The sheep came forward in excellent order and condition. The sale opened on the lambs for which there was particularly strong competition, realisations being fully Is per head better than recent sales. Breeding ewes also met with a strong competition and we report a total clearance at prices fully firm on recent ewe fairs. The following are our main sales * F. J. S. Ivilsby: old ewes, 27s 9d; 66 4-yr. old ewes, 25s 6d, L. N. A. Burling: 140 4-th maiden ewes, 31s. M. Wolfsbauer: 300 4-yr. old ewes, 25a (id; 152 wether lambs, 17s 6d. C. R. Best: 270 5 and 6-yr. old ewes, 18s sd. Brown Trustees: 140 4-yr. old ewes, 28s lOd; 60 5-yr. old ewes, 235; 50 ewe Jambs, 15s Id. G. R. B. Ivilsby: 5-yr. old ewes, 23s Id. B. H.
