Foxton

At yesterday’s meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board, Mr. E. Perreau was in the chair owing to the temporary absence of the chairman, Mr. J. A. Nash. As the Foxton Bea"h camp site fees had in the past been somewhat low, the Board decided to raise them. A concession was granted, however, to members of the Automobile Association. It was a generally known fact that many of the campers tried to get off the camping site without paying their fees, so a subcommittee, consisting of Messrs Perreau, Barber, Brown and Killick was formed to deal with this matter. The Board was very interested in the proposed plans for the improvements on the oeach and it was decided that £25 should be donated towards the building of the ramp. Two tenders for the Pilot’s House were received, but were both declined.
