The scope for additional National Savings accounts in Feilding is to be measured by the population which to-day approximates 5000. At present the number of such accounts in Feilding is between 500 and 60-0, a figure which indicates, that there is room for expansion in the shape of additional depositors. In this : Victory Loan effort, there should be pride in being identified with lending and if every household joined in to-day, it would prove a wonderful fillip to the campaign in the district. Feilding, which did so well in the Third Liberty Loan, is behind in National Savings accounts compared with Dannevirke, where the depositors number over 1200. From a national point of view, there has been tremendous progress in National Savings and Feilding can render still further material assistance by joining those hundreds who are now accumulating surplus cash against the days of peace.
