Commenting on the reference in yesterday’s Times to the action of the Manpower officials in calling up employees in Feilding for essential work elsewhere, the president of the Chamber of Commerce (Mr. D. H. Mclriness) yesterday stated that it was not generally understood that employers had the right of appeal within seven days. He understood that the experience in the past with such appeals had demonstrated that every consideration was accorded to the circumstances of the employer.
