Glowering Hatred For Collaborationists

Received Friday, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 1. “The glowering hatred the people of Rouen l.ave for collaborators created an atmosphere that must have been similar to tbe French Revolution. When the collaborators yesterday marched through the streets,” says the Associated Press’s correspondent, “it was a fearful sight as the thousands lining the treets howled at the women collaborators whose heads were shaven and a hig black swastika painted on their heads. A number of male collaborators who worked for the Gestapo were shot yesterday.” The British United Press’s correspondent reports that the Germans in tho last few days before they left Rouen ran amok in tbe streets, looting and shooting hapless citizens. In a final burst of terrorism they shot 46 civilians, the last victim being a 12-year-old boy.
