Shailer, of 26 Ngata Street, Palmerston North, has received a postcard from him stating that he is in the best of health. Writer Verry was last heard of just prior to the fall of Singapore. Subsequently, in April, 1942, he was re* ported missing, and it was not until June, 1943, that official word was received stating that he was a prisoner-of-war. The message now received is the first news to come direct from Writer Verry for two and a-half years.
