Manawatu Federation of Women’s Institutes
A committee meeting was held on Thursday when all members of the executive were present except Mrs. Will and Miss Grant. Sympathy was expressed for Miss Grant who had been ill for some time, and a speedy recovery was wished her. Correspondence was received including the financial report from the Dominion Federation. Owing to a bereavement In the family, Mrs. McClelland, the delegate to the Dominion Council meeting, was not able to be present to give her report. The forthcoming health exhibition was discussed and Mrs. Will, Mrs. Poananga and Mrs. Child agreed to be committee members to help with arrangements. Arrangements were dis-
cussed for the forthcoming half-yearly Federation meeting to be held in October. Business concluded with a suggestion from Mrs. Scott that a combined social evening be held later in which all institutes could participate.
