Memorial Avenue

The first memorial in the district to fallen soldiers of this war takes the form of a memorial avenue of trees on the northern approach to Hunterville. It marks a commendable departure from the practice of 25 years ago of erecting monuments of stone and in years to come will grow to a place of beauty, hallowing the memory of noble men who have made the supreme sacrifice. It is intended, at a later date, to erect a tablet in the avenue, and an unveiling ceremony and full service of dedication will be held.
