Woodroofe, president of the Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild, yesterday, was uhat all the women’s organisations in the city should send representation to farewell functions held in the Opera House for servicemen going on active service. She pointed out that these functions were often not well attended which was a poor compliment to the men, also to the Mayor and others concerned. Mrs. J. Barsanti, president of the Palmerston North branch of the League of Mothers, endorsed these remarks and the meeting gave unanimous approval for this suggestion to be passed on.
