102nd Birthday
Still active and alert, Mrs. Isabella Bain Munro. of Sixth Avenue, Tauranga, celebrated her 102nd birthday on Saturday Although her hearing and sight are slightly impaired, Mrs. Munro’s health has not deteriorated to any degree since her 100th birthday, and she is still able to help witli a few light housekeeping duties at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Munro, of Tauranga. Mrs. Munro was born at Lossiemouth, Scotland, and after her marriage to the late Mr. William Munro, a ship’s officer, she lived in Scot land and London for some years before coming to New Zealand in 1903. Mr. Munro established a shipwright business in Auckland, and they lived at Ponsonby and Onehunga. After Mr. Munro retired they moved to Lake Roto-iti. Mr. Munro died in 1916. Mrs. T. E. Smith, of One hunga, is a daughter. After a business visit to Auckland and Wellington Miss R. Duckworth, has returned to Palmerston North.
