Fifty New Zealanders Escape From Italy

LONDON, Jan. 6.

News of tho New Zealanders who escaped from Italy to Switzerland has been received in London from Pte. D. L. Jacobs, of Christchurch. He states:

“About 50 from the camp 1 was in have arrived. The Swiss people are very good and are kindness itself. I am able to hire a wireless and listen-iu to the New Zealand news broadcast from London every Tuesday.” Expressing thanks to Air. C. B. Burdekin, who is in charge of the Prisoners of War Department at New Zealand House, Pte. Jacobs says:

“New Zealand House has done a great job of work for the lads. 1 really Believe we are treated better than any of the other Dominions. ”
