Tararua Electric Power Board

MONTHLY MEETING

Mr. P. Davies presided at the September meeting of the Tararua Electric Power Board yesterday morning, others in attendance being Messrs C. H. Parsons, L. Johnston, C. T. Richardson, S. J. Judd, A. AV. Bisset, T. Fouhv, J. G. Brechin and W. Britland, the engineer manager and secretary-treasurer. Accounts totalling £4334 7s were passed for payment. An apology for absence was received from Mr. Cheetham. A resolution was passed that a hire charge be made foi anything borrowed from the Board. Mr. S. J. Judd stated that radio reception was very poor in Pahiatua, it sometimes being impossible to use the sets.

Mr. Fraser (the engineer manager) said that Pahiatua was recognised as ono of the worst districts for radio reception. After some discussion, it tvna resolved that the Power Board write to the Post and Telegraph Department suggesting that a radio inspector come over to Pahiatua to in-

vestigate the cause. Mr. Fraser submitted a report on the Electric Power Board's Supply Authorities’ Conference at Napier, and after discussing the report, Mr. Fraser was thanked for submitting same.
