Revolt and Riots in Occupied Countries
Received Sunday, 7 p.iu. LONDON, Sept. 4. Fifteen thousand Slovak troops revolted at Trnava, Czechoslovakia, early this week when ordered to don German uniforms and go to Germany for the antiaircraft defences, states a report reaching London. Troops from a neighbouring garrison and also storm troops had to be called out to quell the riots. Algiers radio says the Italian com-mander-in-chief in Yugoslavia declared a state of emergency aud has begum repressive measures against patriots. Stockholm reports state that Han* neken has proclaimed a state of emergency in Denmark following a new wave of sabotage all over the country. Ail privately-owned firearms must be surrendered to tho German authorities by Tuesday under penally of death.
