Business Girls Enjoy Social Evening
Members of the Business Girls’ Club enjoyed the hospitality of Miss Phyllis Raisin, a committee member, at her home in Cuba Street for the August social. Competitions and games occupied the time very happily, trophies being won by the president, Mrs. M. 11. Oram, Betty Sycamore and Miss E. Greer. Miss Nichol entertained with recitations and dainty supper was served. As usual, the girls had brought a nice array of gifts for parcels for the Maori Battalion. Before the evening concluded, thanks were conveyed to the hostess by Miss Vera Royal (secretary) for a pleasant occasion and the use of her home. Mesclames Whitehead and Millington represented the vicepresidents and there was an apology from the patron, Mrs. A. E. Mansford.
