P.N. Branch of League of Mothers
Extending a welcome to the members at the September meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the League of Mothers, the president, Mrs. J. Barsanti, made special mention of Mesdames Silser, Whitehead, H. Di'ake, Milverton and Jenkinson. The speaker was Miss M. Cranston, who entertained the members in her Inimitable way, telling of experiences of railway travel when she first arrived in New Zealand some 21 yearß ago from England and the things that could happen to luggage that was checked. Returning thanks, Mrs. A. McPherson remarked that it would appear that some apology was due to Miss Cranston and her mother for her early experiences of travel in New Zealand. The company was further entertained by Mrs. E. Twigge and her grand daughter, Miss N. Twigge with vocal duets, Mrs. Mclntyre, vocal solos, and Fay Fanning, piano solos. Mrs. Justine Whitehead was the accompanist Arrangements were made for servicing the patriotic shop from September 6 to 11 with the Terrace End branch, and the A.N.A. Club on September 17, 18 and 19
