Mr. and Airs. A. Kingston entertained a number of guests at a five o’clock party at their home in Park Road on Saturday to celebrate the 21st birthday of their daughter Shirley, which took place last Thursday. The guest of honour, wearing a navy moire taffeta frock, assisted her mother to receive their friends. The reception room was decorated with bowls of japonica, plum blossom, freesias, and stock in shades of pinK, and the dining-room where refreshments were served was bright with daffodils. Among those to whom toasts were accorded were Miss Kingston (Mr. ft. A. Brace), Mr. and Mrs. Kingston (Lieut. C. Blundell), and Mr. T. Kingston, of Hamilton, grandfather of the guest of honour (Miss E. Redwood). The guests were later entertained at a picture party.
