Cooperative Women’s Guild
Mrs. King presided over a business meeting of the Guild recently when it was decided to pack and send parcels to members of the Society overseas which would be donated by the management committee. Mrs. O. Brown gave a report of the National Council ot Women chiefly dealing with remits. It was decided to send a letter to Mrs. Oliver expressing sympathy in the serious illness of her daughter. The speaker was Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, the new W.E.A. tutor-organiser, and his subject was “London in War Time.” Mr. Mountjoy had been in London during 1939-40 and part of 1941, the years of the German blitz and had helped with the evacuation of women and children. The work had proceeded like clockwork, Mr. Mountjoy said, so web had it been organised. The attitude oi the British people, he said had been to keep bright and smiling and no blitz or anything- elso would ever kill their spirit. Mrs.. O. Brown thanked the speaker and tea hostesses were Mesdames E. Harrod and Christiansen. SLUGGISH LIVER STIRRED BY DR. MORSE’S INDIAN ROOT PILLS.
