Cuba Street Guild

Airs. E. Twigge presided and welcomed a good attendance of visitors as well as members at the Cuba Street Methodist Guild meeting. Tile schoolroom had been decorated by Mrs. J. Morgan and Miss A. Dittmer. Airs. F. Dorset read a portion of Scriptures. Mesdames Twigge and Dixon were appointed to attend the United Guild's quarterly meeting. It was decided that the Guild take its turn at the patriotic shop early in May. Arrangements for the coming harvest festival social were made, and also for providing afternoon tea for the W.C.T.L*. convention on the day allotted. Mrs. Twigge introduced Rev. E. F. Hoddinott, a visiting minister, who gave a talk on marriage and honiemakfiv . Ms. Twigge ' thanked recommitted, who conveyed to Gnr. Elliott the good wishes of local residents. Air. W. McKay was in the chair for the annual meeting of the Apiti Primary Production Committee. As there was another meetihg that evening, the attendance was not large. There was a general discussion on various matters concerning primary producers, following a report on applications for release of men in camp for work on farms. One farmer present voiced his displeasure that the committee bad recommended the man-power authorities to appeal for him when he was prepared to proceed to camp. It was explained that the committee gave caretul consideration befoie sending lorward any recommendations, and that the committee was formed to consider the primary production of the district.
