(From our Own Correspondent.) Air. E. W. Cowdrey presided at the annual meeting of the lialcombe and District Patriotic Committee. The report of the Women’s organisations was submitted by Mrs. N. E. Ashworth and eulogistic references were made to the splendid work being carried on by the ladies. The election of officers resulted:—President, Air. E. W. Cowdrey (re-elected); vicepresident, Mr.W. S. Page; secretary, Air. It. D. Elgar (re-elected); committee, Messrs W. Harvey, R. G. Burgess, N. E. Ashworth, C. A. Abbiss and Atesdames N. E. Ashworth and E. Williams. A further appeal for funds will be made shortly and a meeting of canvassers will be held in mid-April. The report of the Women’s organisation is as follows:—lialcombe committee knitted 100 balaclavas, Gi scarves, 79 pairs mittens, 60 pairs socks, 4 pairs sea-boot stockings, 3 pairs gloves, 1 and 6 balaclavas, 8 scarves, 9 pairs gloves and 6 pullovers. Tokorangi members, 6 balaclavas, 8 scarves, 9 pairs gloves, 9 pairs mittens, 3 pairs socks, 2 flying jerseys, 3 pullovers. Stanway members, 28 balaclavas, 43 scarves, 13 pairs mittens, 12 pairs socks and 2 pullovers. To the Lady Galway Guild, Feilding. Stanway Sewing Guild forwarded 89 garments, and Tokorangi a box of clothes. Parcels sent from lialcombe were 111 posted to local members of the Armed Forces and 32 unaddressed. favourable comment has been made on the manner in which Kakariki residents responded in an effort to alleviate the sufferings of the late Air. Noel Morris, who so tragically met his death in a shooting accident recently. A relief party was promptly organised, and prior to the doctor’s arrival, first-aid was administered. Willing helpers then carried the unfortunate victim to the hilltop where an improvised ambulance, which had been made available by a local resident, was waiting. Air. Alorris unfortunately succumbed to his injuries after Ills transfei to the ambulance. A bright party was given by Mr. and Mrs. H. Judd recently to celebrate the coming of age of their daughter, Vera. Aliss P. Blunden, on behalf of those present, congratulated Miss Judd on attaining her majority and wished her many years of health and happiness. During the month of February, the lialcombe Women's Patriotic Committee forwarded the following woollen goods to Zone E. Headquarters. Feilding:—B bala clavas, 3 scarves, 4 pairs mittens, 5 pairs socks, and 1 flying jersey. In conjunction with the Stanway Sewing Guild. 48 parcels were packed and posted to locai members of the Armed Forces serving overseas. The Rev. K. A. Robinson has received notice of his transfer to Granity. He will be succeeded by Rev. R. Alexander, ot Paraparaumu. Air. and Airs. J. R. Dais are visit:; Mr. and Airs. C. J. Garnett, Te Arolia. Mrs. J. L. Fergusson is spending a ho. day at Tauranga. Alesdames G. Nicol, R. J. Alanagh, D. C. Alanagh and E. W. Cowdrey have lefi for a holiday at Rotorua. Mrs. L. W.
