Reduction of Armed Forces Appeal Boards Urged

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Mar. 8. In view of the changed man-power position will the Government review the Armed Forces Appeal Board system for the purpose of eliminating unnecessary authorities and saving endless expense. asked Mr. J. A. Lee on behalf of Hon. W. E. Barnard when the House met at 2.30 to-day. Mr. Lee added that there were two boards in Hawke’s Bay of which number one board did most of tho work and the chairman ami members roceived thirty shillings daily each for each day worked. The chairman of number two board received £9OO a year and two members £450 each while tho solicitor received £SOO. Mr. Lee suggested that only one board was required now and thirty shillings daily for the personnel was reasonable except for the chairman who should receive extra payment in of his extra responsibility.
