National Party in Feilding

The members of the National Party in Feilding met on Saturday night when the organisation of the Party’s interests in the town was discussed. A sub-committee comprising Messrs. L. Ndrthcott, R. Richardson, .T. G. Eliott, T. Pagan and C. V. Guy, was appointed to confer with the women’s branch with the object of compiling a complete membership roll. It was agreed to appoint a lady secretary for the branch and to call a further meeting this month of all members when delegates to the Electoral Committee will be appointed. The retirement of Mr. A. Campbell, as chairman of the local branch was announced and the vacancy ,is to be filled at the next meeting. Strange to say, the poorest land will often yield the finest tobacco, and the splendid leaf grown in the Dominion on land incapable of growing anything else is a case in point, as many a hardworking settler has discovered to his advantage. Of course, with a tobacco crop careful cultivatiou is all-impor-tant, but in the case of our very finest N.Z. tobacco, the finishing touch is supplied by toasting, which remarkably ingenious process (the manufacturers’ own), not only deans up excess of nicotine, but gives this beautiful tobacco its renowned flavour and famous bouquet. A pipe or cigarette of the real toasted, Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshearl), Pocket Edition, Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), Riverhead Gold and Desert Gold, is a positive luxury in which the smoker may revel without fear of consequences. Innumerable brands of tobacco contain too much nicotine to be safe. There’s so little •nicotine in “toasted” that it hardly counts! But ’ware imitations! The offer of something “just as good” should be promptly declined. There’s nothing “ just as good” as toasted.
