Feilding Golf Club
At the aunual meeting of members of the Feilding Golf Club on Saturday evening Mr. L. M. Giesen was re-elected president. Other officers elected were: Vice-president, Mr. T. Donaldson; captain, Mr. I. Stewart, committee, Messrs. A. C. MeCorkindale, D. J. Hay, -J. N. D. Macdonald, R. H. Farqualiarson. R. Ewart, S. A. Gover; trustee, Mr. P. G. Miles; lion, secretary, C. B. Thomas; lion, treasurer, Mr. It. A. Blundell; auditor, Mr. A. H. Maguire. A lengthy discussion took place on the question as to whether the club should continue its activities or go into recess. The membership and finances of the club were reviewed, after which it was agreed to carry on with a nine-hole course, it bcing'stated that the membership justified the club continuing on a limited scale. Reference was made to the very satisfactory results of the farming operations conducted by Mr. Farquaharson, who was accorded a vote of thanks. The meeting also accorded a vote of thanks to Mr. Somerset for the use of the room m the Community Centre for the meeting. The club expects to open its season towards the end of the month.
