Oranges for Babies
The Plunket Society had been advised by the Internal Marketing Division that supplies of oranges were now exhausted and no further fruit would be available until the Cook Islands season opened in April or May, the Minister of Marketing, Mr. Barclay said on Wednesday. “The Internal Marketing Division,” added the Minister, “is well aware of the value of oranges for children, and will continue to give priority to Plunket needs during periods of short supply as long as fruit is procurable. ’ ’ The Minister explained that the Internal Marketing Division had been providing the Plunket Society throughout the Dominion with oranges while supplies were available, and their priority in supply was second only to hospitals and medical certificates.
