The tlxii'd annual meeting of the Farewell Club will be held to-night in the Coronation Hall at 8 p.m., and an invitai tion is extended to all residents to attend, j Mr. W. J. Amies pi'esided over the ; monthly meeting of the school committee. The head teacher’s report showed that there were now S 7 pupils on the roll. Visits to the school had been made by Dr. Nannieted and Nurse Bell, and also by the Education Board Inspectors, Messrs. Crosby and Bates. Mr. C. Davison undertook to attend to some minor repairs to a boundary fence. There was an .excellent attendance at the annual meeting of the Rongotea Girl Guide Association, presided over by | Mrs. H. V. Caverhill. The committee's financial statement showed a small credit ; balance of £lO I9s 4d. The Guide Captain (Miss N. Davis) presented the annual report which showed that the year had been a very full and eventful one. The roll number now stands.,at 22, with 13 second class, 8 tenderfoots and one recruit. Seven service stai-s have been awarded during the past year and nine second class badges. The election of of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. H. V. Caverhill; vice-presidents, i Mesdames W. A. Churchill and A. Hill. ' committee, Mesdames Bower, Boswell, Fieldhouse, C. Davison, M. Will, W. Wallace, Schaw and J. Wheeler; secretary-treasurer, Miss Joan Churchill. Mrs. Cavei'hill complimented the Captain on the excellent work the Guides had done. They were being taught to help others, and the effort they had made in connection with the Trefoil Hut appeal was outstanding for a small comixuny. On behalf of the committee, she asked Miss Davis to convey congratulations to ---• Company.
