Terrace End Progressive Association

I At a meeting of the general committee of the Terrace End Progressive ' Association this week, there were present Messrs E. Anderson (chairmen), J. Mitchell, F. McLachlan, G. W. Mills, E. Burrell, J, Blackwood, S. J. Parkes, W. Brown, J. Davidson, F. J. Oakley, H. J. Morgan, J. A. Nash, E. Arnold and W. T. Hoots (assistant secretary). A letter was received from the Chief Postmaster in connection with suggested improvements in facilities provided at the branch office, and also from Mr, J. Hodgens, M.P., in regard to the association ; s application for the erection of a permanent office at Terrace End. It was agreed that a memorandum be presented to the Postal Department setting out the claims of the association in support of their application, this being left in the hands of Messrs F. J. Oakley and J. A. Nash. Mr. J. A. JSash reported on quotations which he had received for seats for Fiteroy Park, and this matter was left in his hands. It was decided to ask the City Council to provide a footpath on the right side of Vogel Street from Featherston Street to liata Street, and to reinstate light required in Buahiae Street, also to have the black swan removed from the lake at Fitzroy Park as it constituted a menace to young children. A complaint was received as to the charge made for delivering railway parcels to the outskirts of the city, and this matter is to be taken up with the department. , ‘ —'
