Second Day at Flemington

G. ] The weather was fine and there was* a good attendance at Flemington. i Isambard was badly placed early but finished strongly in the November Hurdle and repeated Valhalla’s performance last year to win both hurdles. Giant Killer and Glaucus made fair efforts. Haros was placed in his only two previous starts and well deserved to win j tlie Byron Moore Stakes. He scored j easily from the hot fancy Regency. Souris was a poor third. The winner cost 300 guineas as a yearling. High Caste was last early in the race ,and narrowly defeated Burrabil in the Linlithgow Stakes. Tea Cake was a moderate third. High Caste has now had two wins and a dead heat in this race in the last three years. He is ptill as game as ever but is definitely on the ; I decline as he was hard put to beat ; Burrabil to-day. The first half-mile was run in 50* seconds and the last two in 1 255 seconds. Saint Warden had a long overdue success in the Veteran Stakes.
