MANAWATU EXECUTIVE MEETS Present at a meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association were Messrs. J. T. McDonald (chair), D. W. Creed, J. C. Christie, C. C. Yates, L. A. Reichenbach, and R. O. Uaddon (hon. secretary). Owing to shortage of players, the Oliau Club forwarded its resignation : 1 rom the association. The secretary was requested to write to Ohau expressing the wish that they would be able to re-affiliate at some near future date as it is only by clubs continuing their affiliation that the association can continue its work.
The New Zealand Council advised that the N.Z. junior championships had been allotted to the Northland Association.
Owing to the shortage of A grade balls it was decided that unti lfurther notice B grade balls could be used in A grade matches. Inter-club competitions: It was decided to continue mixed competitions in the northern division as all clubs com-
peting were able to enter mixed teams. Nominations accepted were:— A grade: Woodville, Feilding, Takaro and P.N. B grade: P.N., Northern, Alanawatu, Whakarongo, St. Pat’s and West End. C grade: Milson, St. Pat’s, Whakarongo and West End. In the southern division entries had been received from Levin and Manakau, and the arranging of a competition here was left in the hands of the inter-club competition sub committee.
