Feilding W.C.T.U.
The annual meeting of the Feilding' branch of the Women '3 Christian Temperance Union was held this week when all officers were re-elected for the ensuing year. Reports from the various . departments of work showed tnat steady progress was being made. Thanks were due to Mrs. Kendall for the fine report presented, while Mrs. Wright spoko from James, chapter three, where a warning is issued of the danger of the uncontrolled tongue, this proving a very apt lesson for the times. Correspondence was received regarding | a protest against the wet canteen being opened at Levin for members of the W.A.A.F., and much consternation at this step was expressed by mothers 1 present. Leaflets detailing the branch's works sold freely among members. The president (Mrs. Spence), spoke words of encouragement and faith in God for whatever the future should bring forth, while Mrs. Stewart led in the closing prayer.
