Legless Pilot Missing
I (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 12. Wing Commander D. K. Bader, the egless R.A.F. pilot, is reported missing, ./ing Commander Bader, who has the 3.5.0. with bar and the D.F.C. with bar, lost both legs in a flying accident while serving in the R.A.F. in 1931, but contrived to re-enter the service on the outbreak of the war. He had made many daring raids. Wing Commander Bader participated in a fighter sweep over France. Soon after crossing tho French coast, he and nnothei? pilot dived into a swarm of Messerschmitts, whereupon a fast and furious fight ensued. Wing Commander Bader was absent when the planes returned. It is believed that he baled out and was probably taken prisoner.
