NATIONAL CANDIDATE TOE PALMERSTON NORTH

Mr. J. M. Gordon, who is weli known in legal circles as a barrister and solicitor, and who was recently appointed to command the Ist Battalion of the Wellington-West Coast Regiment (rcrvitorials), has been selected as the National Party’s candidate to contest the Palmerston North seat at tnc general election. The ballot among members for the selection of a candidate, the other nominee being Mr. M. H. Oram, closed on Tuesday night, and the choice of Mi. Gordon was announced at the conclusion of the count yesterday. Mr. L. I. dimmer acted as returning officer.
