Successful Street Day Fer Sailors’ Comforts
“INVASION" OF FEILDING
TO-DAY
The street collection for the Merchant Navy Comforts Fund held in Palmerston North yesterday was remarkably successful, everyone showing willingness to help in providing comforts for the heroic seamen who brave perils known and unknown in their task of keeping Britain's lifelines open. Although the collections have not been finally checked, it is believed they have broken all records in the city.
To-day Feilding is to be invaded by a battalion of collectors, knd as it is sale day, no doubt farmers will welcome the opportunity of paying the debt they owe to the men of the merchant navy.
