Parcels and Letters For Missing Airmen
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 6. The procedure adopted by the New Zealand High Commissioner's Office in London iu dealing with correspondence and parcels addressed care of that office to New Zealand Air Force personnel who are reported missing or killed was mentioned by the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) to-night. The Minister said if an individual was reported killed, letters were returned to the senders immediately and if missing the letters were held for three months and then returned. If the individual \was reported a prisoner of war the letters were sent on as soon as a definite address was given. In the case of parcels those containing food, comforts or woollen goods were sent to the New Zealand War Services Association for distribution if the individual were reported killed but when tho individual was reported missing the parcel was held for three months and then sent to the association. Senders of parcels could rest assured that if it were found that, the package contained anything of a personal nature it would be returned to the sender.
