Another Village Occupied

Received Monday, 9.30 p.m. JERUSALEM, June 15. As a result of a flanking movement the Allied forces have occupied 11 .hta, seven miles east north-east of Kiswe, which is ten miles from Damascus. Two Allied columns are converging on Damascus, and it is stated that the capital may shortly be surrounded. The Free French and British lorces now occupy the north bank of the Awange River. Australian pilots operating in Syria are loud in their praises of tho American Tomahawk fighter planes which have now been fitted with cannon instead of machine-guns. It was announced last week that 1000 of these planes had been delivered to Britain. Cyprus was raided by enemy planes, the capital Nicosia and other parts being visited. There were few serious casualties but no damage was caused.
