Hospital’s Emergency Scheme

PROGRESS OF ORGANISATION “Recently portion of my time has been devoted to special work for the Health Department in my capacity as hospital officer under the hospital emergency scheme,” reported the managingsecretary (Mr. A. J. Phillipps) to yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board. “As regards emergency hospital matters within this district, some matters require adjustment and explanation to the local E.P.S. committees, and during the coming month I shall be meeting the local E.P.S. organisations in each centre with a view to giving them a concise statement as to the proposals regarding the establishment of temporary hospitals and . the requirements of these hospitals in the matter of personnel, etc. It will be realised that the hospital emergency scheme in this area has to be framed taking into account the group schemes as affecting this and adjoining districts, and it is not possible to finalise all local details in this district until I have completely co-ordinated our work and our proposals with that of the boards, in the Wanganui group, the Wellington group and the Hawke’s Bay groups.”
