Mr. and Mrs. J. Watkins, Ross Street, were week-end visitors to Napier . Mrs. Whittem, of Island Bay, Wellington, is at present the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dixon, Napier Road. Amongst the winners of the Diploma in Agriculture at Massey College during the past year was Mr. Colin Fred Craven, of Dannevirke. Miss B. Coleman, Palmerston North, and Mr. 1). Robertshawe, Wanganui, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Coleman, Fox Street. Sergeant-Pilot A. Scliaw left yesterday after spending his final leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. R. Scliaw, Ferguson Street. Messrs. E. McNeil, L. J. Hills and R. Leach, of Wodville, have been selected lor the Bush Rugby representative team to play Dannevirke Army this afternoon. Mrs. Jones, Fox Stret, is at present staying with her daughter, Mrs. A. Shann, of Paeroa, who has returned to her home after receiving treatment in hospital. Mr. L. D. J. Smith, who has been clerk of the Court in Dannevirke for the past three years, has resigned from the Justice Department in order to commence practice as a public accountant in North Canterbury. I At the Napier Pigeon and Cage Bird Club’s annual show last week, Mr. L. A. Walker was successful when, having entered four canaries, ho was awarded two first prizes, ouo second, the club’s special award, and the North Island championship for a Norwich variegated yellow canary.
