Every Man Earned George Medal
AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE IN BOMBED CITY Received Thursday, Midnight. LONDON, April 30. “If I were handing out George Medals I would give one to every member of the Australian Air Force’s tenth squadron,’’ declared an R.A.F. squadron leader who has just returned from a multi-blitzed British port where the Australian Air Force squadron is stationed. * ‘ The daily task of these men is to make wide sweeps of the Atlantic sea routes, but dozens of tbe Australians, senior officers and aircraftmen, have voluntarily been giving the greatest help fto the strained welfare services assisting to extinguish the blazing buildings and digging out the dead and wounded from the wrecked city. Others have organised special services to attend the casualties and feed the homeless, taking prompt measures for their evacuation.’ *
