Kiwitea-Kimbolton Branch W.D.F.U.

The annual meeting of the KiwiteaKimibolton branch of the W.D.F.U. wia« recently held in the Kimbolton Hall, Mrs. Ciapham presiding over a flair attendance of memlbers. The meeting was asked to stand in silence as a mark of respect to members who had suffered bereavement during the year. Apologies for absence were received from Meisdam.es Hocking, Hair, W. Beard, Barrow and Misses Shannon and Hocking. in presenting the annual report, the president expressed thanks to all members for their co-operation and help in numerous ways during the year, wniie in this direction the secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Lodge, was accorded a tribute for her untiring efforts. The balance-sheet revealed the branch to be in a sound financial position. Branch members were in charge of the patriotic shop in Feilding on two occasions, this resulting in over £7O being handed in to the authorities. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. D. Young, the auditor. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. W. G. Glapham; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Lodge; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hocking and Osborne; branch committee, Mesdames Kilgour, Low, D’Ath, G. W. Beard and Miss Hall; advisory members, Mesdames Banks, ttmith and Lodge; delegates to provincial meetings, Mesdames Gibson, Osoorne and Ciapham; delegates to Dominion conference, Mesdames Lodge and Ciapham; social committee, Mesdames G. W. Beard, Gibson, Osborne and Misses Perry, Hall and Brown; market stall, Mrs. D’Ath and Miss Cranston. It was mentioned that Mrs. Lodge i and Miss Perry had not missed a branch meeting for a period of six years and members considered this surely a record attendance. The meeting concluded with the serving of afternoon tea, a vote of thanks being passed to ths hostesses, Mesdames D’Ath and R. Beard and Misses Murray and Hall.
