Wedding at Rongotea

MUDGWAY—TEAZ The Anglcan Church, Rongotea, the scene of a very pretty wedding on* the afternoon of April 12, when Maire Mary, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Teaz, of Rongotea, was married to Robert Maxwell, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Mudgway, of Lower Hutt, Wellington. The church, had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by ReV. Mr. Barnett, of Bulls, the wedding music being played by Mrs. Hall (the bride’s sister), who also sang “I’ll Walk Beside You” during the signing of the register.' The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, made a charming picture in a dainty model gown of Queen Elizabeth blue, finished with a row of tiny blue buttons down the back. She wore a picture hat of grey, with shoes and gloves of the same shade. A lovely cameo pendant, the gift of the bridegroom, and a bouquet in tones of pink and blue, completed a striking toilette. The bridesmaid, Miss Doreen Wing, of Marton, wore a dainty frock of dusky pink, black picture hat and accessories to match. She also wore a dainty necklace and carried a bouquet in shades of pink and blue. The bouquets were the work of Mrs. J. Weightman, of Palmerston North. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. James Teaz, while the ushers were Messrs. Homer Teaz and ,R. Horlor, of Lower Hutt. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Royal Dutch lounge, where the guests were recived by Mrs. S. Teaz, who wore a tailored costume in Air Force Blue, with model hat in the 1 same shade and matching accessories. Her shoulder spray was in autumn tonings. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who was gowned in black, with black coat and hat, while her shoulder spray was of red flowers. The beautiful wedding cake, which held pride of place at the bride’s table, was made by her mother and artistically iced by Mrs. A. J. Will, of Rongotea. Mr. H. Ransom acted as toastmaster, vocal solgs being rendered by Miss Belle Teaz, while incidental music was played by Mrs. Teskie, of Auckland. When sho appeared dressed for travelling, the bride wore a frock of warm brown colour, with coat and hat to tone. After a brief honeymoon, the bridegroom entered Trentham military camp, where he is training for service overseas. Prior to the wedding, several gift afternoons were held for the bride in Lower Hutt, the young couple being the recipients of many very beautiful gifts.
