Mrs. W. S. Couper, of Eangiwahia, has been the guest cf her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 1\ Jarrett, Kimbolton Road, Eeilding. Mrs. P. G. Stevens, of Canterbury, whose husband was formerly attached to the stac of the Fcilding Agricultural High School and is now with Lincoln College, is visiting Eeilding. Miss Loraind Major, M.R.A.D., j A.LS.T.D., of Palmerston North, lias been appointed adjudicator for the dancing section of the Nelson Competitions’ festival opening on May 12. Her many friends throughout the Dominion learned with deep regret of the death on Tuesday of Lady Clifford, at her home in Christchurch. Lady Clifford had been in failing health for many months. Wearing a bridal gown of cream satin brocaded with gold roses and a tulle veil combined with an exquisite piece of old race, Miss Margaret Valmai Richardson was married at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Wellington, on Wednesday afternoon to Mr. Robert George Eorbes, of Cheviot, Canterbury, son of the Rt. Hon. George Eorbes, a former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Mrs. Eorbes. The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. C. A. Richardson, Talavera Terrace, and the late Mrs. Richardson, was escorted by her father. Her bridesmaid was Miss Moya Hempton, and Mr. Denis McGrath was best man. The ceremony was performed by Canon D. J. Davies.
