(From Our Own Correspondent.) Golf Club There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Halcombe Golf Club. The president, Mr. G. Nicol, commented on the improved standard of play shown by members and thanked all for their co-operation throughout the season which had proved both interesting and enjoyable. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr. R. J. Managh;* president, Mr. J. J. O’•Sullivan; vice-president, Mr. L. Fergusson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. I. G. Owen; club captain, Mr. N. J. Anderson; committee, Messrs. D. C. Managh, G. Bevan, K. Fergusson, C. Fergusson and G. Judd; auditor, Mr. L. AA r . A. Miller.- It was resolved to forward a letter of appreciation to Mrs. A. Ward for her services during the past year. A Canadian mixed foursome will be held on opening day. Mrs. R. J. Managh was elected a life member of the club. At a subsequent executive meeting the following committees were formed: Greens’ committe, Messrs. L. Fergusson, R. J. Managh and D. C. Managh; match committee, Messrs. G. Bevan, N. K. Fergusson and J. O ’Sullivan. Ladies’ Golf Club At tho annual meeting of the Halcombe Ladies’ Golf Clug officers elected were:—Captain, Mrs. E. AY. Cowdrey; vice-captain, Mrs. G. Nicol; secretary, Mrs. R. J. Managh: committee, Mesdames L. Fergusson, N. E. Ashworth, .T. L. Fergusson, D. C. Managh, J. O’Sullivan and Miss O. Fergusson handicapping. committee, Mesdames G. Nicol, E. Cowdrey and R. Managh. It was decided that all competitions this year be played on Saturdays over 13 holes. A grand dance will be held on May 8 particulars of which will appear in the “Times” on tlie 6th instant. Personal Mrs. E. W. Cowdrey has returned from a holiday spent in Rotorua. Mr. G. Robinson, who has been an inmate of the Marton Hospital has now returned home. Mr. Iv. Wapp, of the Post Office staff, is spending his annual leave in Levin.
