outlook for Next Bobby Calf Season
MINISTER WILL CONFER WITH POOLS It was impossible to give any definite information regarding the prospects of the bobbv calf industry for the coming season, the position being just as uncertain as in other branches of primary production, said Air. C. Foreman, chairman, at the first annual meeting of tho North Taranaki Bobby Calf Pool, when a successful season was reviewed. The Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, had given an assurance that collections would continue because the veils were required to meet the in creasing cheese production. The Minister was at present attend ing meetings of pool delegates througnout New Zealand to discuss the purchase of bobby calves, Air. Foreman said, and notification had been received that a conference of representatives of bobby calf pools, including Taranaki, i with tho Afinist.er of Alarketing, would be held at Palmerston North on Friday. The whole matter was in tho hands of the Government.
