Harriers

The Y.M.C.A. Club held its opening run of the 1941 season on Saturday. The course was approximately four miles long, leading across the paddocks from the end of North Street, to Richardson’s Line, and then back to the starting point along the main road, with a “run-in” over the last 300 yards. This resutled: J. Cole 1, J. Roberts 2, A. Cozens 3, J. Scott 4. Although the attendance was small compared with former.years, the number of runners competing was sufficient to show that a good season could bo expected. Among the new runners competing were A. Punlop, who ran with some success on the track during the season just completed, and J. Jones, a promising harrier from Wellington. Tho next run will be from the Sportsground next Saturday.
