(From Our Own Correspondent.) Patriotic Committee. In the unavoidable absence of the chairman, Air. A. N. Alorcom, Air. W. Amey was voted to the chair, there being a very good attendance of members. The monthly financial statement by the treasurer, Mr. H. Fox, disclosed a satisfactory position, the dance for I t.he Parcels Fund addtug considerably to ! this. Air. V/. A. Wenborn handed in an anonymous donation of 10s. The date for the next euchre and dance was fixed for Tuesday, the 29th inst., this to bo j advertised as usual. The various otfi'cials were appointed and the chairman expressed the hope that both danco and ! euchre parties would be w r ell attended, I as the proceeds would be devoted to a .worthy cause. Airs. W. Davis expressed I her .willingness to make a wreath for Anzac Day on behalf of the committee, tin connection with the national appeal for parcels, the secretary was instructed to write to Zone E, asking when tho next appeal was to be made, and if longer notice could be- given to district committees. Anzac Day. There was a splendid attendance of the public to make arrangements for tho observance of Anzac Day. Air. L. H. Yarrall was chairman and expressel h’"s gratification at the interest shown. Air. A. Treknor presented the report and balance-sheet for last year, and outlined the arrangements he had already made this year. Thanks were extended him for the initiative he had displayed. The service will be on exactly the same lines as for last year, commencing at 2 p.m. Invitations were extended to the R.S.A., the Guides, the Homo Guard and E.P.S. units to parade for tho occasion. Airs. Yarrall was asked to take charge of arrangements for afternoon tea, and the ladies are expected to give their usual generous support. In the evening Air. Banks has made a generous offer to put on a special picture for the occasion, half the proceeds to go to the relief fund of the local R.S.A.
