Fines and Penalties
MAGISTRATE’S COURT PROCEEDINGS Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M., presided at the sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in Palmerston North yesterday. H. K. Cowan admitted driving a car without a driver's license and having no warrant of fitness for the vehicle. He was convicted without penalty in view of a substantial fine recently paid in connection with a more serious charge. F. S. Birch was fined £1 with £1 18s costs for driving without due care and attention. He was involved in a collision with a motor cycle. Mrs. A. M. Quartley was fined 5s with 12s costs for having no warrant of fitness for a car.
