Wedding of Widespread Interest

RANSOM—POUPARD All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, w T as the scene of a very picturesque wedding on Tuesday, February 11, when Lorria Margaret, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Ransom, ol liongotea, was married to Stephen Thomas, only son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Pouipard, of Glen Oroua. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward officiated, while Mr. J. Holmes Runnicles presided at the Entering the church escorted by her father, the girlish bride made a cnarming picture in a beautiful gown o'f ivory lace worn over satin. Fashioned on slimming lines to the knees, tho gown flared at the hem to form a circular train, which was inlet with bands of ruched satin, trimmed with sprigs of orange blossom. Tho sleeves, which were fitting to the wrist, were also inlet with ruched satin, while tiny buttons finished the frock from the waist to the heart-shaped neckline. The beautiful French embroidered silk net veil was the gift of tho bride’s aunt, Mrs. J. Knight, of Feilding, and was held in place with a nalo of orange blossoms and lilies. She carried a lovely bouquet of white and pale pink carnations, roses, lilies and maiden hair fern. Ivory satin shoes and a single string o'f Richelieu pearls completed a dainty toilette.

Attending the bride was an attractive trio ox ’maids, Miss Margaret Poupard, of Napier (sister of the bridegroom), Miss dean Ransom, Levin, and Miss Kona Ransom, of Petone cousins of the bride). They were dressed alike in petunia stiffened net over taffeta, wifn full skirts, puff sleeves, heart-shaped necklines and finished with large bows at the back. Net rosettes were worn on the hair, while silver shoes and bouquets of petunia shaded flowers completed charming toilettes. Each maid wore cameo lockets, the gifts of the bridegroom*

Mr. W. Scott, of Glen Oroua, capably carried out the duties of best man, while Messrs W. Russell, of Feilding, and C. Hehir, of Taikorea, acted as groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held, at the Rosco lounge, where the guests were welcomed oy the parents o’f the bride and bridegroom, ihe bride’s mother was attired in an attractive ensemble of black heavy sheer, with model hat and matching accessories, and she also wore a loveay spray of scarlet gladioli and dahlias. The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart grey costume, model hat and grey accessories, and also wore a spray of autumn tinte-d dowers.

The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful gifts and numerou. cheques. When the bride appeared for travelling, she was wearing a honey gold light woollen suit with honey gold ielt hat and accessories of burgundy, and carried a saunter coat of honey gold.

The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Poupard will be at Glen Oroua.
