Mrs. L. J. Wild, School House, Feeding, is on a visit to Canterbury. Mrs. W. G. Short, of Cheltenham Road, Feilding, president of the Oroua Federation, will be the speaker at the annual meeting of the Kiirrbolton Women’s Institute on Tuesday, March 18. Miss Ida Joblin, who has been a member of the staff at the Regent Theatre for the past five years, was the recipient of a presentation on Saturday evening from the management and staff. Miss Joblin has received an appointment in Wellington. Mr. Y. J. Cloustou (manager) mado the presentation, eulogising Miss Joblin’s services and wishing her happiness and success in her new sphere. The death has occurred in Dannovirke of Mrs. Lucy Freeman, a pioneer of the Ashhurst and Dannevirko districts, at the age of 94. Mrs. Freeman was born in Shoreham, Kent, and came to New Zealand with her husband, settling in Ashhurst. After a few years she went to Dannevirke, where she remained till her death, She is survived by five daughters aud one son, and there are 17 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
