Climax of Hitler’s Success Passed
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 1. , Broadcasting to his country, the Prime Minister of Poland, General Sikorski, said that until last September the Germans, by brute force or treachery, had gone from victory to victory, but the climax of their success had passed. “Having lost the greatest air battle in the world’s history, the enemy has come up against the determined resistance of the most powerful empire in the world, which to-day is definitely supported by America,” he said. Mussolini was described by General Sikorski as an “associate” of Hitler who had suffered painful defeat in Greece, which nation he had attacked against the will of the Italian people. This s' uation was hopeless and had become a burden to Hitler. General Sikorski concluded by calling on his countrymen to endure still further.
