Little Princesses

Princess Elizabeth is iinding time for a new hobby these days, in spite of being' so busy with her sewing and knitting and other forms of national service. Recently she has taken up leather w-ork, and has been making a number of little handbags as Christmas presents for friends., The leather-work hobby marks a forward stage in the Princess ’ development. »So does a certain hat, a modified Breton hat in blue felt with a ribbon band, which she has just acquired. It is the most grown-up hat she has ever worn, and she is tremendously proud of it, as would bo any schoolgirl. Princess Alargaret is as yet still content. to be a child. And a delightfully warmhearted little girl is the Queen’s younger daughter. The other day she insisted on giving away her favourite pink wool dressing gown, with other of her own and her sister’s clothes, which were to go to evacuee children from the bombed city areas. Her remark on parting with this pet garment was expressive of her kindliness: “I expect there is another little girl,” she said, “who really needs it more than I do.”
