Melody Dance Club

FIRST 1941 DANCE TO-NIGHT A very happy evening was spent on Saturday by a large gathering for the final dunce of the season by the Alelody Club in the Empiro Hall. Alany novelty dances were enjoyed and prizes distributed. During an interval “Diane” presented the organiser, Aliss Winifred Hubbard (escorted to the stage by Air. George Dawson amidst applause) with a beautiful bouquet of Christmas lilies, roses, and carnations and a large box of chocolates in appreciation of her excellent organisation and well-conducted popular Alelody dances. Returning thanks, Aliss Hubbard wished all a “Happy and Prosperous New Year” and assured patrons of her best attention at all times in providing dance entertainment. An “eccentric” item, given by “Diane” and “Jeronsi,” caused much amusement and gifts were presented to them. A professional orchestra supplied the music Air. Rabbits acting as pianist (in the absence of Air. A. Russ) and also announcing the dances, while the programme was capably conducted by the organiser. The first of the 3941 dances of the Alelody Club will be held to-niglit in the Empiro Hall, when an excellent programme and novelties will be presented. Full details aro advertised on page 1 of this issue.
